3G Touch Diamond confirmed
A new leak today reveals the much-anticipated HTC Touch Diamond will support HSDPA and HSUPA 3G data networks in the US market. The news comes after the device was spotted on Best Buy's online store, listed as unlocked and sporting a near $700 price tag. Best Buy estimates customers will get their HTC Touch Diamonds sometime between September 29 and October 4, although that may be postponed closer to those dates.
Best Buy already carries HTC's range of handsets, including the Cavalier, Shift, Touch and Touch Dual, and is currently taking pre-orders for the new device. The Touch Diamond will use Windows Mobile 6.1 for its operating system and run it on a 528MHz Qualcomm CPU. It will have a built-in GPS sensor, Wi-Fi module and the next generation of HTC's TouchFLO user interface. It will also have a 3.2-megapixel camera along with an accelerometer. That is not an image of Best Buy's online store. That is off RSS which is the INTERNAL inventory system and only viewable by Best Buy employees. FYI.

So the good news here is that Best Buy's getting ready to open its arms to yet another HTC product that's impossible to find by wandering into the brick-and-mortar store of the US wireless carrier of your choice; the bad news, though, is that it doesn't seem to be the version we wanted. The Touch Diamond now has a Coming Soon page all its own on Best Buy's site.
