BBerry Javelin Photos

Updated photos have been posted today of RIM's upcoming BlackBerry Javelin that confirm both some of its hardware features as well as carrier details. The device is considered a replacement for the Curve and will be limited to EDGE data versus the Bold's 3G, but is now known to have a once-rumored 3.2-megapixel camera with flash and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The design also supports claims that it should keep the 480x320 display of the Bold.

GPS and Wi-Fi have also been rumored in the past, though the only potential confirmation of the former is the appearance of a BlackBerry Maps icon in the main menu.

The particular example in the photos carries Vodafone branding, confirming likely plans for the Javelin in Europe, but is also shown alongside Rogers-branded Bold and Curve phones and alludes to the phone likely appearing with the Canadian provider as a lower-cost alternative to the Bold. Earlier slips have suggested the Javelin may not show until late November or December but is a candidate for T-Mobile in the US and may also appear with Rogers.
