ION intros new turntable
ION Audio recently announced the release of its LP 2 Flash USB turntable that allows users to copy audio tracks onto SD cards or USB flash drives from vinyl to the digital domain with or without a PC. The LP 2 Flash is also capable of separating tracks thanks to its silence-sensing software and has an LCD display that, along with the controls, lets users pick the recording quality. An analog input allows other devices to be connected to the turntable, including tape decks, CD players or digital audio devices, allowing their contents to also be copied onto the digital storage media.
ION includes EZ Vinyl Converter software for PC users and EZ Audio Converter for Mac users that allows the copied music to be imported into iTunes. The downloadable software includes Gracenote MusicID software that will analyze the content and retrieve album, artist and song information automatically. A noise-reducing program is also included. An audio output lets users use the LP 2 Flash like a conventional LP player.
The company has not announced pricing or release date information for the LP 2 Flash turntable, but it should be higher than the near $100 price tag of the less feature-packed TTUSB05.
