Creative X-Fi Teaser

Creative is readying itself for a new X-Fi product launch next week, the copmany has revealed through an invite sent out to an Engadget reader. The invite for the September 17th event provides only a brief glimpse of a device with the X-Fi logo and states that the brand is "heard everywhere," hinting that the launch is for one or more portable devices. No other details have been revealed through the message.

Little has surfaced in recent weeks of devices that would match the description. The X-Fi name is already on the X-Fi Go! sound card and is already in use for handhelds through the ZEN X-Fi. A recent patent filing has also recently alluded to the development of a tablet like device that may represent a new ZEN Vision with a camera, though Creative isn't required to launch new hardware based on patents and may give any finished product a different name.

Notably, Creative has generally left the Vision untouched since the Vision:M and Vision:W were introduced in 2006 while most of its X-Fi products have been released in 2007 and 2008.
