Lexar 16GB CF, SDHC cards

Lexar has announced four new memory cards, all sized at 16GB. The first two are a part of the Premium series, and consist of an SDHC card rated at 60x, and a CF card listed at 80x. The former is said to maintain a sustained write speed of 9MBps, and hold approximately six hours of video in the case of 1080p camcorders. The CF card is mainly intended for DSLRs, and has a sustained write speed of 12MBps.

The Platinum II cards are also split between CF and SDHC models, and share the same performance specifications as the Premiums. The lines differ only in terms of software bundles, as while both come with Lexar Image Rescue 3, the Platinum IIs substitute Corel Snapfire Plus SE with a six-month trial of Corel Painter Essentials 4. All four cards should ship sometime in September, with the Platinum II shipping solely to the US while the Premium is intended for European customers.
