T-Mobile has launched a pre-registration page on its website for the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220. WiFi connectivity allows internet access and even phone calls to be made without connecting to the service provider cell towers. A 2MP camera with flash also records video. Content can be added using an external microSD card slot or transferred from iTunes using Media Sync.
GPS capabilities allow location determination, with additional directory information and step by step directions provided by BlackBerry Maps. In a similar fashion to the iPhone, the Pearl Flip will automatically orient the screen from portrait to landscape when the phone is turned on its side while watching videos. The external display shows caller ID and message previews without opening the phone.
