Sanyo PLV Z3000 projector

Sanyo has unveiled its latest 1080p HD home theater projector, the PLV-Z3000. The new device will replace the PLV-Z2000, with significant improvements in contrast ratio, now up to 65,000:1. The frame rate has been increased to 120Hz with 'Dynamic Predictive Frame Interpolation Technology' and a 5:5 pull-down mode. Sanyo claims its 'TopazReal HD' color management produces 216 billion color combinations with 14-bit digital processing.

The new optical engine and additional compensation plate are designed to reduce polarized light leakage, claimed to contribute to the high contrast ratio. Lens shifting capabilities and 2x zoom, with a vertical shift range of three screen sizes and horizontal range of two sizes. The projector casts a 100-inch screen from 10 to 20 feet away.

The 'Sirocco' fan is reported to bring noise levels down to a maximum of 19dB in economy mode while cooling the 1200 lumen projector. Users can connect devices with Composite, S-Video, 15-pin for PC, or two HDMI and Component ports. An Rs232 port is also provided for home theater or automation controls. The PLV-Z3000 will be available in December for $3,300.
