Kodak intros AiO printers

Kodak on Monday announced it will soon ship the new ESP 9 and ESP 7 all-in-one printers, both of which, the company claims, offer significant savings in ink replacement costs compared to competitors. The ESP 9 will let users print, scan, photocopy and fax documents via its 10-inch touch control panel that includes a 3-inch LCD for previewing documents. Either sports a Wi-Fi connection to allow wireless-free printing from any networked computer, as well as an Ethernet port for a wired network connection.

Other features shared by the two printers include an auto document feeder and a dedicated photo tray. Either is capable of printing 32 black and white pages per minute and 30 color pages per minute. A duplexer in both allows two-sided printing. A USB slot and a multi-format memory card reader let users handle documents without the need for a PC. With Kodak’s photo paper, the printers can produce long-lasting, smudge-free photos in 28 seconds for 4x6-inch prints, and up to 8.5x11-inch borderless prints.

The ESP 9 is priced at nearly $300, while the ESP 7 costs about $200. Both will be available to buy from Kodak’s online store and in retailers in late September. Replacement black ink cartridges cost $10, while a five-ink color cartridge is priced at $15.
