Sony VAIO TT Early Specs
Sony's upcoming VAIO TT should be one of the first ultraportable notebooks to sport Blu-ray as a feature, the company has unintentionally revealed in advance. The company's advisor system shows a top-range version of the 11.1-inch notebook with a built-in Blu-ray burner, making it one of the smallest notebooks to handle the 50GB disc format. Sony's slip also reveals dual 128GB solid-state drives in a fast RAID stripe as well as 4GB of memory and a new 1.4GHz ultra-low voltage Core 2 Duo.
As part of the slip, Sony has also revealed three regular, DVD-equipped TT models separated only by color. The black, champagne gold, and red systems switch to both the less expensive optical storage and to a single, 160GB rotating hard disk. Sony doesn't mention minimum memory but downgrades the processor slightly to 1.2GHz.
An announcement has been rumored for as early as today but is now considered less likely, though the reason is unknown apart from secrecy on an FCC filing for the new VAIO that lasts until October 1st. [via Sony Insider]

Apple Blu-Ray???

Apple was one of the early supporters of Blu-Ray and yet it isn't even a BTO option on any of its products. What gives? SuperDrives aren't quite so super any more.

Bold move, Sony!
It is in their "Premium" model, and you will no doubt pay through the nose for it, but I haven't seen the comparative cost breakdown, so...
