Xerox announces two new business printers

Xerox today announced two new desktop printers, the Phaser 3300MFP and WorkCentre 4260MFP. The Phaser serves as a printer, copier, scanner, or color fax machine, with a claimed speed up to 30 pages per minute. Pages can be scanned directly to a USB storage device or exported to a PC desktop. Designed for small to medium sized businesses, the Phaser will hold up to 50 sheets in its tray and automatically print double sided pages.

The WorkCentre 4260 was designed by Xerox for businesses that require higher function speed, claimed to reach 55 pages per minute by the company. Additional features are also offered, including an ID card copy function that prints both side of an ID or insurance card onto one side of a page. Incoming faxes can automatically be forwarded to email, and repetitively copied documents can be stored on the hard drive for printing.

An important selling point for the WorkCentre is "Print Around" that allows jobs to continue printing even if one is paused. If a user attempts to print a project but lacks the correct paper size, that job is put on hold and other workers can still use the printer while the paper is fetched. Primary controls are operated from a 7 inch color touch screen.

Both the Phaser 3300MFP and WorkCentre 4260MFP are available now from Xerox or other resellers. The Phaser will cost $600 while the WorkCentre starts at $3000.
