Dreamweaver CS4 adds Live View, code editing

Unveiled as part of Adobe Creative Suite 4 Web Premium and other bundles, Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 offers users a multifaceted workspace, with improved compatibility for modern website design. Dreamweaver CS4 includes the new Related Files and Code Navigator features, allowing users to quickly access the underlying code of compound documents, including external CSS files, JavaScript libraries, linked files, and server-side code.

Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 offers a new Live View mode, an in-application browser based on WebKit that allows web designers to view site documents in a persistent view that changes as code is edited.

Dreamweaver CS4 will be available in October for $400 individually, with other pricing options available for the various Creative Suite bundles.

Same ugly interface

Why hasn't Adobe updated this interface yet to look/work more like the true Adobe (i.e. non-Macromedia) apps? Dreamweaver's interface always looked cheap and amateur, and it's aging even worse.

My guess is that people who use Dreamweaver daily are quite comfortable with the interface and Adobe does not want to alienate long time users by making heavy changes.

alienate?

how would they alienate them? if people aren't already using open-source for web design, changing dreamweaver's interface to make it better isn't going to make them stop using it.in my experience, serious coders are using eclipse firebug to do everything. or visualstudio, not dreamweaver.what else are people that are using dreamweaver going to use? there is nothing to switch to now that adobe owns macromedia and canceled golive.
