ShareTool 1.2.3 adds interface enhancements

ShareTool 1.2.3 released

Yazsoft has posted a new update to ShareTool, its Bonjour-based networking utility. The software lets users access a Mac's Bonjour services across a LAN or over the Internet, enabling tasks such as printing, filesharing or streaming music from iTunes. All network traffic is encrypted, and any application is supported so long as it is compatible with both Bonjour and TCP/IP.

The v1.2.3 update makes a variety of interface changes, for instance adding an Info tab to display IP and port number, and a dedicated Bonjour tab to enable or disable services selectively. A Users tab logs all remote connections and their times.

Under-the-hood changes include options for manual or automatic refresh, a check to see if Remote Login is enabled before turning on sharing, and the elimination of password requirements when a private key is available. Licenses for ShareTool start at $20, and the software runs on Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later.
