Palm Ships Treo Pro
Palm today officially began shipping the Treo Pro to its American audience. The Windows Mobile phone matches up with specs from the initial launch and is considered Palm's first true world 3G phone, with tri-band HSDPA covering service on AT&T and Rogers in North America as well as European, Japanese and Korean carriers. It also carries GPS mapping, Wi-Fi networking and a two-megapixel camera.
The handset ships only in its characteristic black and costs $549 as an unlocked phone for use with either AT&T or T-Mobile as well as foreign carriers, though 3G speeds are limited to AT&T for American customers. A version specific to that carrier and subsidized down to a significantly lower price has been rumored but has so far gone unannounced.
