Shuttle intros small PC

Shuttle PC has recently introduced its newest mini-desktop, the X2700N to the United States market. Like many netbooks, the small PC uses Intel‘s 1.6GHz Atom CPU paired with an onboard GMA 950 graphics processor and 1GB of DDR2 RAM memory. Wireless Internet access comes via a standard 802.11b/g card. The PC’s standard 80GB hard drive comes preloaded with the Foresight Linux operating system, while a DVD burner is optional.

Other options include 32GB and 64GB solid state drives as well as a 120GB hard disk drive and virtual memory can be doubled to 2GB.

Connections include two USB 2.0 ports on the front panel with another four USB ports on the back, and there is a VGA and DVI connection for adding external monitors. There are also serial and Ethernet connections on the back of the X2700N. Surround sound 5.1-channel audio is supported by the included Realtek ALC662 card.

The Shuttle X2700N is available for purchase now and starts at $399.
