Monday, October 13thAveratec brings Atom-based all-in-one to US
Averatec today brought over a new addition to its All-in-One series that was previously available only in Europe. Once called the A1, the All-in-One 18.4-inch PC takes the uncommon approach of attaching a large 16:9 display to a nettop, giving it the stature of a desktop but a relatively low price. The system continues to run a 1.6GHz Atom processor and also carries 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive and Wi-Fi.
A 1.3-megapixel webcam also comes built into the top bezel of the All-in-One, which uses Windows XP rather than a less expensive Linux distribution that often comes with budget systems. Averatec hasn't set a specific release date but plans to sell the Americanized A1 for far less than in Europe, pricing it at $550 for a full system. [image via Laptop]
