MacBook Review

On October 14, 2008, Apple released two new MacBook models that stand as its first major overhaul of the 13-inch system since its introduction in May 2006. Apple as always claims a dramatic overhaul; but the real question is whether this is the giant leap promised by the company, a minor step forward in a new disguise, or something in between. Click through for our full 13-inch MacBook review for our answer.

    Good review but

Good review, but rather than comparing it to the Mini, I would have rather seen it compared to the "old" MacBook. Maybe in another review?

    Good but..

Its good but I disagree with one phrase in the review: The screen not having as much color. I noticed a huge improvement in both color and viewing angle going from the old white MacBook. I am not sure if its due to the LCD back-lighting or not but it seemed to have a better screen to me when it came to color.

Plus, the graphics DOES make a noticeable improvement in general performance between the old white MacBook. To be honest with you, the X3100 was awful. So much so it dragged down the performance of Mac OS X, try moving around your cursor in the dock (with zoom on), minimizing, going to the dashboard, going to a website with Flash, etc. on the old MacBook and then do that on a new MacBook or any other Mac model, you will notice a pretty significant performance boost and the GMA X3100 White MacBook feels sluggish in comparison. This is something I sure have noticed right away when going to the new MacBook. I've even heard people claim that the GMA 950 MacBooks performed better than the X3100 in that area. I am just glad they decided to ditch the GMA all together and go with nVidia this time round, the GPU is FAR better in every single area. It can actually play a modern game for once...
