MSI gaming notebooks in US

Computer maker MSI on Tuesday announced the availability of two of its newest gaming notebooks, the 15.4-inch GX630 and 17-inch GT735, in the US market. Both share AMD's Turion X2 dual-core processors at 2.2GHz, 4GB of RAM and MSI's overclockable Turbo Drive that allows the chips to run as much as 15 percent faster. Apart from the different display sizes and corresponding resolutions, at 1280x800 for the GX630 and 1680x1050 for the GT735, they also feature different graphics cards, with the former using NVIDIA's GeForce 9600M GT 3D and the latter running ATI's Mobility Radeon HD 3850.

The remaining features are virtually identical, including the same Windows Vista Home Premium OS preloaded on the same 320GB capacity SATA hard disk.
HDMI outputs can be found on either, as well as a 2-megapixel webcam, Bluetooth connectivity and an 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi module. A 4-in-1 card reader and three USB ports are also standard spec. The GT735 includes a four-track speaker system and subwoofer, and both are Dolby Surround Sound-certified.

The GX630 and GT735 come equipped with MSI's new ECO engine that allows users to select from five operating modes to conserve battery life or optimize the screen for gaming or viewing videos.

Both notebooks are available in stores now, with the GX630 priced at $1,050 and the GT735 at $1,250.
