Novatel intros Ovation MC760 Micro Modem

Novatel Wireless over the weekend announced the upcoming release of a new USB modem, the Ovation MC760 Micro Modem. Calling it the world's smallest EVDO Rev. A USB modem, Novatel goes on to reveal the MC760 provides both its wide-area Internet access as well as the added benefits of an on-board GPS receiver and a built-in microSD memory card slot. The MC760 weighs less than one ounce and is just slightly longer than two inches.

The MC760 ships with support for Windows Vista, XP and 2000 operating systems, as well as Mac and Linux. To ease the set-up process, Mobilink Lite Connection Manager Software is included with the MC760. A service status LED will let users know the connection status provided by the integrated dual-band antenna.

Although pricing has not been announced, the Ovation MC760 will be available to commercial customers before 2009 and is expected to be carried by Verizon and/or Sprint in the US. [via CrunchGear]
