Dell debuts (PRODUCT) Red artwork for Studios

Dell (PRODUCT) Red Studios

Dell has taken the unusual step of announcing three new artwork options for its Studio notebooks, all under the aegis of (PRODUCT) Red. (PRODUCT) Red is a commercial initiative designed to trickle money to the Global Fund, an AIDS charity. For the purchase of each 15- or 17-inch Studio with (PRODUCT) Red artwork, Dell says it will send $20 of the money to the Global Fund.

The illustrations are by Joseph Amedokpo, Siobhan Gunning and Bruce Mau, and are "permanently infused" into each notebook's lid to prevent fading. A 15-inch Studio costs a minimum of $649, while 17-inch systems cost at least $799. Dell also sells a variety of other (PRODUCT) Red items, such as a version of its XPS One 24 desktop.
