Nokia E63 Pre Launch

In a rare move, Nokia is already shipping out review samples of its E63 smartphone to bloggers ahead of any official announcement and has been captured in a set of photos made available online. The full-QWERTY device is being pitched as a budget alternative to the E71 and accomplishes this goal with a lower-resolution two-megapixel camera versus the earlier 3.2, the absence of 3G, as well as a body that uses more plastic in place of the metal that lines the flagship model.

The apparent downgrade lets Nokia alter the appearance of the phone and should result in the E63 coming in red as well as at least one more conservative color.

Those with early access to the E63 have yet to discuss it publicly, and no mention has been made of when the Symbian S60 device will either be announced or start shipping. Most companies will typically seed review-quality phones within weeks of a public announcement to ensure that reviews are live the same day, suggesting Nokia will unveil the smartphone before the end of the year.
