Thursday, November 13thApple narrows ship time on LED Cinema Display
Apple has narrowed the shipping timetable for its new 24-inch Cinema Display, which should be on its way to customers in seven to 10 days. The new LCD display, announced last month with the new MacBooks, features resolution up to 1920 by 1200 pixels with a contrast ratio of 1000:1. The use of LED backlighting is claimed to offer more accurate color, energy savings, and quick transition to full brightness. The device also features an iSight camera, microphone and 2.1-channel speaker system.
Apple designed the new display for use with MacBooks, providing Mini DisplayPort, MagSafe, and USB 2.0 connections. The 24-inch LED Cinema Display is available from the Apple Store for $900.

Back to "Ships: November"
I saw earlier today where it showed 7-10 days for shipping, but it's now back to November...
I waited but....
I was hoping for new ACD this fall, not the consumer level, but semi-pro model.
I just received a 24" Samsung 245T and it is pretty nice. Zero Dead Pixels, 3 year warranty, adjustable height, tilt, hdmi, usb's....$657.00
2.1 Speakers?????
okay.. I'm late seeing this. It is listed on the specs but my question is... where the heck is the sub woofer???

Well, as the only people who can use the almighty mini-display port are new mb and mbp owners, not a loss. Most people don't care about a built-in isight or speaker (wish I could've had the option to remove it from my MBP and save some $$$).
So, for $300 you still get a good display (in theory) and, I don't know, save $300.
Oh, right, most mac users prefer to spend more money, not less.
