Sony Ericsson C905a with AT&T firmware on eBay

An eBay auction for an example of Sony Ericsson's C905a handset, equipped with an 8.1-megapixel camera, reveals wireless provider AT&T may be considering adding the flagship handset to its line-up. The device in question features AT&T's firmware loaded onto it, complete with the start-up screen and logo, though there are no AT&T logos anywhere on the outside of the device.

While it's not known whether or not the device is the work of some sort of cellphone hacker or a Sony Ericsson insider, one theory involves Sony Ericsson itself using the device as a demonstrator for AT&T, with the carrier considering adding it to its lineup.

The handset's camera an image stabilization function along with a smart contrast adjustment. There is a GPS receiver with data assist support to help navigation and let users geotag their photos. A Wi-Fi module will access networks and hot-spots, and also allow other DLNA devices share media with the C905. A Memory Stick Micro slot lets users add memory to the handset.
