Alltel adds HTC Touch Pro

Wireless provider Alltel has recently added the HTC Touch Pro to its line-up of phones. The QWERTY smartphone is available now, priced at about $280 to new subscribers with a contract and after a $100 rebate. The 2.8-inch, 480x640 screen of the device will show the same Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional operating system though with a somewhat different TouchFLO 3D user interface than the Sprint version of the phone.

The handset includes a 3.2-megapixel camera with autofocus and flashlight. Stereo Bluetooth lets it connect with compatible headphones or headsets and other portable devices, while its aGPS functionality, combined with Alltel's Navigation service, will provide turn-by-turn navigation information. A Wi-Fi module is also built into the device for network and hotspot web access. [via Engadget Mobile]
