Dell adds artwork, new colors to Mini lids

Dell has quietly given its netbooks a visual upgrade by adding several new design options. Similar to its Mike Ming Edition full-size notebooks, both the Inspiron Mini 9 and the Mini 12 now have the option of five different stylized patterns on the back designed by artist Tristan Eaton, including three "Stickers" and two "Muse" pieces. The pink and red solid color options from Japan are also now available.

Performance features of the systems remain the same as before the cosmetic upgrade and aren't restricted based on the choice of system.

Adding one of the specialized Eaton pieces boosts the price of either Mini system by $50 above its asking price at a given configuration, while adding pink or red raises the cost by a smaller $25 margin. Either system sees a slight shipping delay when customizing their respective looks.
