BlackWing One HD projector
Cineversum on Tuesday announced the launch of its BlackWing One digital video projector for the North American market. The high-end digital projector supports 1080p24 output and has three 0.6-inch LCoS panels to generate its complete picture. Its dynamic contrast is rated at 15,000:1, and it has two HDMI 1.3 connections.
The BlackWing is thus named as its design, performed by Frenchman Antoine Béon, with inspiration by a stealth fighter jet. It can be ordered in custom colors to easily integrate it into any home décor. An Ethernet port will make setting up its colors and otherwise calibrate it much easier than using its built-in menu. The BlackWing One projector comes pre-calibrated to D65 and CIE rec: 709 high-definition color space.
The BlackWing's brightness is rated at 1,400 lumens, while a 1.5x zoom offers a 1.5-2.2:1 throw ratio. Keystone correction can be made up to 60 degrees in the vertical or 30 degrees in the horizontal. Apart from the two HDMI 1.3 inputs, there are also a VGA, component, composite and S-video connections. Two 12V triggers can be set up to control a motorized screen and blinds or other accessories.
Priced at $6,500, the BlackWing One will start arriving in the US in mid-December. [via Ecoustics]
