LaCie introduces three new accessories

LaCie has announced three new sets of accessories: CurrenKey USB 2.0 flash drives, flat cables, and the Sismo PCI card line. The CurrenKey drives are designed by 5.5 Designers to look like coins, with a retractable USB port. Adding to the coinage theme, the drives come in silver (8GB) and bronze (4GB) colors, and are now available for $30 and $20, respectively. The drives operate on Macs and PCs and are backwards-compatible with USB 1.1.

The Flat Cable line consists of USB, FireWire and eSATA connectors, in blue, green and orange color schemes. USB 2.0 connectors include A to B, A to mini B and A male to A female; FireWire connectors include 400 to 400, 400 to 800 and 800 to 800, while eSATA options are limited to an eSATA-to-eSATA bridge. Each cable ships with 24 adhesive labels. The Flat Cable series starts at $10 per cable.

The Sismo-designed PCI cards arrive in USB 2.0, FireWire 400, FireWire 800 and eSATA versions, as well as a USB 2.0/FireWire 400/800 combo card. Sismo has added dedicated gripping pads to each card, giving electrostatic discharge protection. The eSATA card offers RAID 0/1 support, and requires Mac OS X 10.3 or higher, as does the USB-FireWire combo card. The USB 2.0 card requires Mac OS X 10.4, whereas the FireWire 800 card requires Mac OS X 10.2.4 and the FireWire 400 model demands only Mac OS X 10.1. Prices are not fully available yet, but should start at $20.
