TiVo Netflix HD Goes Live
TiVo on Monday said that its recently promised Netflix for TiVo should now be active. The service lets owners of Series 3, TiVo HD and TiVo HD XL DVRs that also maintain active Netflix subscriptions stream movies and TV shows from their Instant Queues. Titles can play in HD whenever the content is available, and the TiVo's own remote can be used both for navigating the movie as well as rating movies or checking descriptions before starting.
The feature is free for customers of both Netflix and TiVo service and doesn't replace any existing services, including Amazon's Video on Demand and direct Disney access.
Making the upgrade helps either of the involved firm compete among networked media hubs such as the Apple TV by offering more than one device or feature, which to date has been rare among online set-top boxes. In addition to TiVo's multi-service movie features, Netflix now has its services available both on the dedicated Roku Netflix Player as well as Blu-ray players from LG and Samsung and Microsoft's Xbox 360.

bye bye cable
I can't wait to try this... I've already said "goodbye premium channels" from my cable company...
