Nokia 3G N85 shipping

Nokia's N85 smartphone, which has already been spotted at the FCC, is now officially shipping in a North America Model. The feature adds a three-band 3G data network radio for HSPA that supports the 850MHz band used by both AT&T in the US and Rogers in Canada. As of yesterday, Nokia confirmed the handset is now available, with both Nokia's web store and Amazon listing the N85, priced at $589 and $556, respectively. Either is unlocked and supports any local GSM or HSPA carrier.

The N85 sits at the higher end of Nokia's line with a unique 2.6-inch OLED display in addition to more common features such as a five-megapixel camera with flash, a true GPS receiver and Wi-Fi. There is no on-board storage on the N85, however, as the handset instead relies on a microSDHC card slot for a capacity of up to 16GB using current cards.

Nokia hasn't received official support from a North American carrier for the phone to potentially reduce the price, though Rogers is known to support devices like the N95 8GB and E71. [via Symbian-Guru]
