Logitech G13 gameboard

Logitech on Wednesday announced the upcoming release of its G13 Advanced Gameboard, a gaming keyboard meant to be used in conjunction with a user's existing keyboard and mouse. The G13 features three game modes, 25 programmable keys and a programmable analog stick set into a contoured design meant to provide a natural fit for users' hands. A GamePanel LCD with 160x43-pixel resolution displays live game statistics, system information and messages from other gamers.

Users can set up the G13's buttons to perform custom tasks for each of their gaming titles, and macros can be set up without pausing the game. Up to five game profiles can be programmed and saved into the G13, with pre-configured settings for many popular games, including World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade, Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Users can choose from hundreds of colors for the backlit keys. The G13 is compatible with both Macs and PCs.

The Logitech G13 will be available in US and Europe later this month, priced at just short of $80.
