Digeo intros Moxi HD DVR

USA's Digeo Inc., maker of the Moxi media center software, has quietly began offering its first HD DVR, the Moxi HD DVR. Equipped with dual HD tuners and a 500GB hard disk drive, the Moxi HD DVR also offers an eSATA port for connecting external hard drives. Users can also plug in their multistream CableCARD into the DVR, eliminating the need for a separate cable box.

The Moxi HD DVR will allow users to access certain yet unnamed Internet-based video, audio and data services on their TVs, with the device relying on an Internet connection to download program guide data. The DVR is also capable of acting as a media extender, accessing files stored on users' connected PCs or other DLNA-compatible devices. Photos uploaded to Flickr can be accessed through the DVR, and users away from home can connect via the Internet to schedule any new recordings.

The DVR includes an RF cable input, HDMI 1.3b output in addition to component, S-video, and composite outputs, along with RCA stereo, optical and digital coaxial audio outs. There are two USB ports, one each on the front and back panels, along with a 10/100Mbps Ethernet connection. Digeo includes HDMI, coaxial, component, Ethernet, stereo and composite cables with the Moxi HD DVR.

Due for an official launch at CES next month, limited examples of the Moxi HD DVR are available through Amazon. [via ZatzNotFunny]
