Samsung Anycall Origin

Samsung is prepping the launch of the Anycall Origin flip phone in its home market of Korea. Pitched towards those who the company calls active seniors, the phone also known as the W690 features a large 2.6-inch Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode (AMOLED) LCD main screen which, compared to traditional LCDs, does not require a backlight, is more energy efficient, can be thinner and is better suited for quick motion thanks to its faster refresh rate.

Other features include a 2-megapixel camera, an integrated 8GB of memory for storing music and photos among other files and expandable via a microSD card slot, as well as an integrated FM radio. To help seniors get around, GPS navigation capabilities are part of the feature set, and the E-Wallet function lets them sometimes leave home without their real wallets.

There is no word on an exact release date nor pricing information. [via Akihabara]
