Adding to the confusion surrounding the rumors of an iPhone "nano," images have surfaced that suggest the unconfirmed devices have already been replicated by knockoff manufacturers, according to AppleInsider. The fakes are built with a smaller form-factor than the iPhone 3G and even include Apple logos on the back panel. When the devices are turned on, the menu layout is similar to the genuine interface and several icons have been directly copied.
The rumors have been fueled by images of an XSKN case released for the iPhone nano, with dimensions roughly 20 percent shorter and slightly thinner than the 3G model. The company had accurately predicted the current iPod touch and Nano devices before any formal announcement by Apple.
The XSKN rendering shows the home button nestled against the touchscreen, while the replicas are built with the control placed further down. If the device does exist and the case-maker has accurately modeled its features, buyers could potentially use the discrepancy to differentiate knockoffs.

I can't wait to see
some unsuspecting users try to download some apps from the App Store or try to download protected iTunes music. They'll run the the nearest Apple store and complain that their iPod Nano isn't working properly, while the Genius shakes his head sadly. It would really be something if this knockoff really was a copy of a soon to be introduced Apple device. Those Asian countries sure got a lot of balls selling replica items.
nothing new
Nothing new. They do it all the time. You should see the all the mod game consoles that play everything. They could squeeze 5 Nintendo DS games into one cartridge and sell it for the price of one. It will take serious government reinforcement to crack them down. But again, the government officials do take brides. Bribery is normal over Asian countries.
how it works
If someone decide to use China to product electronic gadget and it's a success globally, his neighbor decide to pay him a bribery for either the iPhone blue plan or just replicate secretly it at mid-night shift. Local government official also secretly get a break from these guys if they let them. Yes, people there like to buy cheap stuffs versus original American and Japanese stuffs that cost them weeks of paycheck. In U.S., there's this Wal-Mart thing. In China other Asian countries, black market is their Wal-Mart.
