PQI to intro SSDs at CES
Taiwan's Power Quotient International (PQI), which claims it has more than ten years of experience making solid state drives (SSDs), will display its range of SSDs, USB Flash Drives, Memory Modules and Flash Memory Cards at the CES show next week, including four new SSD products. The debuts will include the 1.8-inch microSATA SSD S518, Express Card SSD S520, 2.5-inch SATA II SSD S525 and eSATA Combo Card S530. The S518 and S525 offer up to 128GB capacities, with the former meant for use in notebooks while the latter offers two interfaces for use inside or outside of computers.
PQI's 32GB Express Card SSD S520 sports a PCIe slot and the company's patented Intelligent Stick Interface that lets it be used as a USB flash drive add to a PC's or notebook's storage capacity through their PCI/E slot. The 64GB Combo Card S530's e-SATA interface allows it to reach a fast maximum read speed of 90MBps. The company will also show off a series of waterproof USB flash drives and the Intelligent Drive i828 range, which sports a clip-on design that lets users expand storage capacity by connecting them together in series.
Compared to traditional rotating hard disk drives, SSDs sport faster read and write speeds, are shockproof thanks to their simpler construction, use up less power and are quieter and lighter. Why say "which claims it has more than ten years of experience"? Do some elementary fact checking so you can say one way or the other, or just leave it out, but don't use the word "claims" as though we should be suspicious of something.
