Fujitsu ScanSnap 1500M

Japan's Fujitsu says that it will debut the ScanSnap S1500M, a new scanner, at booth 520 during this week's Macworld Expo. The hardware (not pictured) is said to incorporate a new "intelligent" resolution function, as well as a redesigned interface built for Mac OS X 10.5. Business card scanning should be improved, and the package includes a bundled copy of Acrobat 8 Professional for document editing.

The major focus of the new scanner will be on faster speeds: it should scan at a rate of 20 pages per minute when handling single-sided documents, though the company will only claim a rate of 40 images per minute for double-sided documents. The S1500M should be released sometime in spring of 2009.

    Why not acrobat 9?

Anyone know why they are bundling Acrobat 8, when Acrobat 9 is the current shipping version? Just curious.
