Samsung and Kinyo/ArtDio have unveiled pocket-sized projectors using competing technology. Samsung's MBP 200 uses DLP technology, while Kinyno chose LCOS, or Liquid Crystal On Silicon. Both models are capable of displaying images up to about 50 inches, but the similarities end there.
First-time CES exhibitor Victorinox Swiss Army has debuted its latest gadget, the Presentation Pro, featuring up to 32GB of storage that is protected by 256-bit hardware encryption and an integrated fingerprint scanner for authentication. The gadget also offers Bluetooth connectivity and two buttons for navigating slide-shows, along with a laser pointer for highlighting specific areas. The company also includes several of its standard tools including a knife, nail file, screwdriver, scissors and a key ring.
Electronista tried out the new CruiseCast satellite-TV system previewed by AT&T at CES this week. The company will provide a satellite receiver and controller module to bring television channels onto backseat displays or other vehicle monitors. The external antenna is definitely noticeable, rising at least an inch above the roof rack, although the company intends to shrink the form-factor of future products.
