Office 14 screenshots
Microsoft recently provided testers with the alpha builds of its latest work suite, Office 14; as a result, screenshots have been leaked to the public, a report indicates. The images are specifically attributed to a Russian tester from wzor.net, and list a host of applications: Access 14, Excel 14, Groove 14, InfoPath Designer 14, InfoPath Filler 14, InterConnect 14, Outlook 14, OneNote 14, PowerPoint 14, Project 14, Publisher 14, Visio 14, Word 14 and SharePoint Designer 14.
It is rumored that a beta of Office 14 will be released in May, with a final Windows version scheduled for the end of the year. Such a release would likely follow or coincide with the debut of Windows 7, also depicted in the screenshots. It is unknown if and when a parallel Mac version might be released.

or has Microsoft Completely run out of ideas on it's office suite. Sure we can change menu's to ribbons or move the ribbons around and make them almost menu's again, but that's about it. The FUNCTIONALITY hasn't changed.

This doesn't look that much different. If this were Digg.com, I would bury this.

They have really run out of ideas. Of course it's not to say that they couldn't improve Office. They've got at least 3 years worth of optimization and garbage collection left, but they'll never get to that.
They've spent the last decade, adding bloat to this monster, and at this point, all they can do is to let it ride, until they just kill it and start from scratch.
I'm not sure why there was ever a need to go beyond the current version either; perhaps just desperate for upgrade fees.
MS Office is hopeless. Thank god for OpenOffice and iWork.
