Stealth bows new high-end Mac mini rival

Stealth LPC-650

Stealth in a low-key move has unveiled a new flagship for its compact PCs that fills a performance gap. The LPC-650 is only slightly larger than a desktop DVD drive but fits in high-end notebook parts, including as much as a 2.6GHz Core 2 Duo, 4GB of memory and a 500GB hard drive. Stealth pictures the new entry as a home theater PC and gives it both an HDMI port for HD, two analog video outs for regular sets, and built-in Wi-Fi with an external antenna for better reception.

Alesis debuts M1Active 520 USB Studio monitors

Alesis has debuted its M1Active 520 USB Studio monitors at the NAMM show in Anaheim. Designed for professional studio use with an internal digital-audio interface, the M1Active 520 USB are a pair of active, bi-amplified, two-way reference speakers that provide an audio range from 20kHz down to 56Hz. In addition to the USB playback ability, the speakers come with a pair of TRS-balanced 1/4-inch inputs that converts them into a computer audio interface.

Numark intros NS7, HDMIX flight cases

NS7, HDMIX flight cases

Numark has announced its latest flight cases for NS7 and HDMIX, both of which are being displayed at NAMM. The NS7 case is a coffin-style flight case specifically designed for the Numark performance controller for Serato ITCH software. Made from wood with metal reinforcement, the case has two casters and a handle for rolling transport. Both the front and back panels can be removed to enable DJs to use the NS7 while it's in the case. Room is also available for the NS7 laptop stand and accessories.

Alesis ships MasterControl studio interface

MasterControl ships

Alesis has announced first shipments of its MasterControl audio interface and control surface. Designed as a professional audio interface and recording control tool, the device provides 44.1kHz to 192kHz recording capabilities. The input section consists of two XLR inputs with phantom power and channel inserts, six TRS line inputs, and expansion capabilities. Master Control also comes complete with a talkback microphone, a full MIDI interface, and the ability to review knob, button, and fader settings before sending them to the DAW software.

Numark debuts new DJ software controller at NAMM

Stealth Controller

Numark has announced at NAMM that it's displaying Stealth Control, a professional DJ controller that comes with Native Instruments Traktor LE and MixMeister Fusion Live software. With a design based around Numark's previous control devices, it provides the same two decks and a mixer layout that allows users to jog, scrub, or scratch. Stealth Control sends MIDI information to control the software and can be used with any application that supports MIDI. A USB cable is used to connect the controller to the computer.

Alesis announces USB Recording Kit at NAMM

USB Recording Kit

Alesis has announced its USB Recording Kit, a complete computer-recording system on display at the NAMM show. The bundles allows recording higher quality audio by combining AM2 condenser microphones and two-way active studio monitors with a digital audio recording interface. Recording music involves only hooking the equipment up through any computer using two USB ports and a pair or microphone cables.
