LG intros two DVD players

LG on Monday introduced a pair of DVD players, including the stylized DV4S and DV4M meant for fans of digital music. The former has a flat-mounted optical drive that's covered by a motorized sliding glass cover and will upconvert DVD movies to near HD quality. DivX HD media can be played back on the DV4S as well. Its slim chassis sports touch-sensitive controls as well as USB ports for connecting external media.

High-spec hardware in the DV4S includes four high-speed, 10-bit video digital-to-analog converters, while digital audio files are reproduced at high-quality 192kHz/24-bit rates.

The DV4M is more conventionally styled and lets users convert MP3 music files from connected digital audio players and record them onto a loaded disc. It has a USB 2.0 port and an HDMI connection. Supported file formats include DivX, MP3, WMA and JPEG files. It has a 108MHz/14-bit video DAC and a 192kHz/24-bit audio DAC.

There is no word on pricing or availability for either of LG's new DVD players. [via Akihabara]
