Acer Aspire One 10in Specs
Acer's Aspire One 10-inch netbook lineup will come soon will be kept simple, a French leak shows. The PC builder plans just three core models and will start off with a basic D150-0B model that comes with a current 1.6GHz Atom, 1GB of memory, a 160GB hard drive and a 3-cell battery; it will ship to France in February for €329 ($427).
A lone mid-range model known as the D150-1B will have performance fundamentally identical performance with the 0B but will have a 6-cell battery that meets Acer's claims of 7-hour battery life. The mild change will boost the price only modesly to €349 ($453) but pushes shipments back to March.
The top-end version, the D150-2BG, will be one of the first netbooks to ship with Intel's Atom N280 processor, which clocks at an only slightly faster 1.66GHz but carries a much improved 667MHz system bus (up from 533MHz). Acer's promised 3G modem comes as default in this model and will support tri-band HSPA networking with US support in addition to quad-band EDGE and GPRS; the additions will lift the price to €449 ($582) for its own March ship date.
Acer has yet to detail any North American plans for the 10-inch model but is believed to be releasing the system in the country in the near future.
