Nintendo DSi launch leak

A Friday leak seems to confirm earlier rumors that Nintendo's DSi handheld gaming console is coming by the spring or summer of this year to both Europe and North America. The confirmation comes by way of a supposed company document from a product briefing document on the video game maker's website. The DSi was already launched in its home market of Japan in November.

The new-generation console will bring new functions and features compared to the current DS Lite, including multimedia capabilities, a three-megapixel camera and a smaller cam in the hinge of device. An SD memory card slot lets users add the multimedia files into the device.

Although official pricing has not yet been released for either Europe or North America, the system is sold for the equivalent of $209 in Japan, a bump up in price from the current DS system's $130 list price. [via Reg Hardware]
