Samsung intros notebook-height external LCD

Samsung LapFit
Samsung on Monday catered to a very specific audience for external displays with its LapFit line. Recognizing that most desktop LCDs sit higher than notebook screens, the company's new designs sit roughly at the same level as a portable's LCD and make for a more contiguous extended desktop. They also attach through USB and so don't need to occupy any existing video output.
The initial LapFit range is split into 19-inch LD190G and 22-inch LD220G models. Both have a 16:9 aspect ratio with a 1360x768 resolution and produce a 20,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. While they require a separate power source, they also include their own USB hubs for additional peripherals.
Both displays launch first in Korea and will sell there for the equivalent of $167 for the LD190G and $218 for the LD220G. International releases haven't yet surfaced. [via Akihabara]
