PHS300 portable Wi-Fi

CradlePoint Technology has announced its PHS300 portable Wi-Fi router is now certified with the Verizon Wireless UM175 USB Modem, for use on the Verizon Wireless network. PHS300 requires no software installation in order to work and lets the router serve as a mobile Wi-Fi access point. Plugging the UM175 USB Modem into the PHS200 router adds 3G data and brings up to 16 people online through a secure link. The PHS300 certification was received by going through the Verizon Wireless' recent open development program.

PHS300 is a portable battery powered router that users can plug into an active USB data modem to receive Wi-Fi capabilities. The device offers support for multiple VPN pass-through sessions. Encryption is handled through standard WEP, WPA, and WPA2. The PHS300 is already available and priced at about $180.
