Mac mini video matches earlier photo leak

Next gen Mac mini video

In response to skeptics of the recent Mac mini image leak, MacRumors member 'monthy' has provided a video of the yet-unannounced device. The clip shows the same features as the image, notably a new port layout. The updated device offers a Mini DVI and Mini Displayport connection instead of the full-size DVI connector, while the FireWire 400 port has been upgraded to a FireWire 800 jack. A fifth USB port has also been added.

The overall form factor and external design elements closely resemble the current model, with an aluminum shell and white back. Reports suggest that the internal components have been revamped, transitioning to a NVIDIA platform. The graphics processor would likely see a switch to the GeForce 9400M instead of the existing Intel GMA 950.

Rumors suggest the product could be launched as early as next month, although a confirmed date remains unknown.

Let's see the bottom of the unit! Let's turn it on and see the actual specs.

This could just be a prototype unit that will never see the light of day. You know there are plenty of those that exist.

If true, that's about perfect. So glad to see Firewire, again if true.

prototype

Indeed most probably a prototype or a demo-model for big 3P developers. But would still be a nice machine, made to be sold cheap so here's hoping for a lower price.

If it's real... gimme one.

The specs seem good:
A real video card and FireWire 800 especially!

Doesn't it work?

Home come people can seem to get photos and video, but can't figure out how to turn it on, open up System Profiler, etc...

And what's the deal with the lighting?

But, based on the table/floor it is sitting on, all this proves is that the photo leaked earlier wasn't 'faked'.

Whether the computer is faked, who knows...

It's About Time

Apple have neglected the Mini for WAAAAAAAY too long. The current Mini on their site is so outdated, the price is an insult to the informed consumer.

Hopefully when this new Mini comes out it will be priced according to the market price for those parts, NOT according to what happens to be in the Mac Mini marketing manager's head at the time.

It's time for LOWER prices on the Mini, and it's high time Apple stopped neglecting the Mini!!!!!!
