Verizon PTT handset coming
A Friday BGR report reveals Verizon will soon begin offering the CDM 8795 handset with Push-to-Talk (PTT) functionality. The device is not being advertised on the carrier's website but the photos reveal dedicated music controls sandwiched between its small auxiliary display and external speaker. There is also a 2.5mm audio jack for hooking up headphones or headsets.
One side of the phone houses a data cable port, volume buttons and the orange PTT button. The other side will accommodate a microSD memory card and sports a camera, speakerphone and voice dialing shortcut. When the handset is flipped open, users will have access to buttons dedicated to accessing e-mail and web browsers, as well as Verizon's VZ Navigator service.
While pricing is not official, it is believed the CDM 8795 will cost $150 with a two-year contract. Shipping dates are not known, though corporate customers can reportedly now purchase the handset.
