Acer Aspire One specs

The thin 10.2-inch Acer Aspire One netbook spotted just two days ago has been highlighted yet again by German site NetbookNews, this time with specs and more images. Unlike previously believed, however, the new, thinner (just under one inch) netbook will not have a solid state drive, but a traditional hard disk with a 160GB capacity.

The netbook is thus far called BA01, though a ZG8 label has also been applied to the computer. The OpenSuSE Linux kernel visible in the photos is not necessarily representative of the production version's operating system, as it has been installed by the anonymous tipster himself. Otherwise, the netbook runs a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU along with 1GB of RAM.

There is a built-in Wi-Fi module, as well as a gigabit Ethernet port. It expectedly uses a 1024x600 resolution, with an integrated Intel 945GME processor handling graphics. Bluetooth capabilities are integrated and there is a 3G broadband module as well.

A standard three-cell battery is rated to make the netbook operate for three hours.

When the slimmer Aspire One will ship still isn't certain; the regular D150 model has only just recently started shipping.
