ASUS Eee PC Shell Leak

The Taiwan-area newspaper Commercial Times claims today that ASUS is in the middle of developing a netbook that would be even higher end than the existing S101. Nicknamed the Eee PC Shell, the 10-inch system would have some form of "higher specification" than the current designer model and would be simultaneously more portable as well as longer-lasting than the existing mini notebook. Target pricing for the Shell would reportedly hover between the equivalents of $486 and $571, or about $100 to $150 more than a typical 10-inch system.

If true, the claim also has ASUS shipping the new system as quickly as April, when the same sources also say Acer's slimmer Aspire One D150 should appear. This last system should have 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive and built-in 3G access along with an Intel Atom.
