ASUS out HD Eee Box 206
ASUS has recently added the Eee Box 206 model to its Eee Box range of small form factor desktop PCs, this one capable of delivering high-definition movies thanks to its HDMI output and integrated graphics chipset, though ASUS is not being specific on manufacturer, model number nor any other specs. Like other multimedia PCs, the Eee Box 206 ships with a remote control and dedicated software, in this case the Eee Cinema media player.
Otherwise, the Eee Box 206 shares same small footprint as others in the range, along with Draft-N Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 10GB of online storage. Processing power comes from Intel's 1.6GHz Atom CPU, and there is 1GB of RAM onboard. The 2.5-inch 80GB hard drive is pre-loaded with Windows XP Home. Apart from the new HDMI out, there is also a DVI output and a gigabit Ethernet port, four USB 2.0 ports and an optical audio output.
The Eee Box 206 is available now in Europe in a white or black patterned design now, priced at the equivalent of about $440. [via Pocket-Lint]
