Pentax X70 Leak
Pentax should top its camera launches for the PMA show with its first real ultrazoom compact. Listings at B&H and elsewhere have revealed that the X70 will center on a 24X, 26-624mm equivalent lens with sensor-shift image stabilization. The 12-megapixel camera should also be very fast with an option to shoot at up to 11 frames per second by lowering the resolution to 5 megapixels.
The design should also carry 720p video recording and a relatively wide light sensitivity range of between ISO 50 and ISO 6,400. Pentax also promises a full range of controls ranging from a wholly automatic scene recognition mode to aperture/shutter priority and full manual modes for experienced photographers.
While release dates aren't mentioned, the X70 has a tentative price of $400 that slots it between usual point-and-shoot cameras as well as DSLRs. [via PentaxForums]

what a horrible logo
I'm really getting tired of giant white block letters for the camera name right above the lens. It's so stale - have these companies ever heard of less being more?
