HTC Rest of 2009 Specs

HTC's remaining phones for 2009 will include at least two very high-end touchscreen devices running Windows Mobile 6.5, a leaked roadmap indicates. A device codenamed Firestone would have the 3.6-inch touchscreen of the Touch Diamond2 but an 8-megapixel camera, the new operating system and a fast 600MHz Qualcomm processor. It would be built for GSM and HSPA 3G networks and should ship in September.

Its companion device, the Thoth, has already been spotted and would have an even larger 4.8-inch touchscreen as well as a 1GHz Qualcomm processor. Besides the more touchscreen-driven Windows Mobile update, it would also have a 5-megapixel camera and ship in the same September timeframe as the Firestone.

Specs have also surfaced for other devices that will typically use Windows Mobile 6.1. The Whitestone appears a Verizon-specific, slightly lower-cost version of the Firestone and would have the same touchscreen but a 5-megapixel camera, a slightly slower 528MHz processor and both GSM and CDMA in the same device; HTC isn't previously known to have done a dual-mode phone for CDMA providers in the past. It would also arrive in September.

Two simpler devices are enroute and start with the Twin, a dual-mode CDMA/GSM device with an unknown-size 640x480 display and a 3.2-megapixel camera; the Maple has also been detailed and is now reportedly confirmed to have a 528MHz processor, a 2.4-inch display and a 2-megapixel camera. While the Twin's shipping timeframe isn't known, Maple is believed due in May. [via WMPowerUser]
