GSM HTC phone at Verizon?

An entry on the GSM Global Certification Forum suggests a new handset that supports the 850, 900, 1800 and 1900MHz GSM bands is coming to Verizon Wireless. The device is simply known as the HTC XV6175, with the XV prefix the only hint of it being offered by Verizon, as the carrier uses the same naming convention for all of its HTC-sourced handsets. Verizon only offers CDMA phones, however and the leaked posting suggests a dual-band handset may soon be offered by Verizon.

From the near 25 nicknamed handsets leaked at the start of the year and revealing HTC's upcoming line-up, the HTC Twin, Whitestone W and Cedar are the most likely candidates to be the new quad-band GSM phone. The Twin is a CDMA and GSM device but was not originally due for Verizon, the Whitestone W is not coming until September, while the Windows Mobile-based Cedar is the most likely candidate.
